With such a secure foundation, when one little aspect of our life crumbles, we can patch up the weak spot without our whole life falling apart. By seeking Him and resting in Jesus, my Cornerstone, I don’t have to worry about my little stones and they don’t seem as important (like they should). Jesus was telling us earlier in the passage to not worry about what we will eat or drink or what we will wear…for me this looks like worrying about my grades and paying for dues, food, and of course, coffee. “Seek first His kingdom and all these things will be given to you as well” Matthew 6:33 “These things” as described here in Matthew are the smaller, less important stones in the building that is our life. So, how do we make Christ our cornerstone? By seeking Him first and making him the most important aspect of our lives.
